Tom “Tommy Showbiz” Hill got his name and reputation right here in the “Queen City”. From the beginning days in early 2000 doing dance battles in the downtown area clubs to being hired as a hip hop show choreographer has made it possible for those around him to share in the spoils. Creating “B boy” events & battles to promoting celebrity parties. Working with the likes of Tone Loc, Danity Kane, Chubb Roc, Lion Gate Films, Charlotte Bobcats, and the list goes on and on. Furthermore he has worked with acclaimed music producers like Tim “K FIGS” Walls on numerous song writing collaborations as well as being the Creator/ Producer of the “Artist Celebration Radio show” on 103.3 FM supporting unsigned artists. During 2006-2008 he enjoyed being the choreographer of the Charlotte Bobcats Breakers.
After accomplishing several goals in the dance world he then turned his attention to giving back to the youth in the city that inspired him to further his dreams. choreography, Music, Radio, etc. Currently teaching 5 nights a week to inner city kids. He has built a performance team of 50 dancers “Rokalot Dance Crew”, performing hip hop and breakdance routines commonly seen at CIAA, Speed Street, NBA – NFL- NHL games and the list goes on and on giving the city’s youth a chance at stardom through dance. Currently he has just scripted “Cardio Dance Fuzion” a hip hop version of the popular zumba dance craze and “Time Warp” an instructional dance program of all the dance crazes from the old “apache” to the ever popular “Dougie” & “Cat Daddy”. These classes are a growing trend and are being presented and carried out in North and South Carolina fit clubs, dance studios & area schools to all ages.
LaShawn has served in the education field as a teacher for over 20 years, receiving awards such as the Impact Through Education and Teacher of the Year. She accredits her passion for teaching from a long line of teachers in her family, as well as to the art of dance. Her training in tap, ballet, and jazz began at the age and 3, and continued until she was 16 years old. LaShawn discovered her love of teaching when she became an assistant dance instructor at her dance studio as an 11th grader. Before attending North Carolina A&T State University, LaShawn had already gained years of work experience as a dance instructor for the Durham Parks and Recreation Department. She continued to work for Parks and Recreation through her college years. While in college, she became a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc and enjoyed serving as assistant step master. LaShawn performed on the step team for two years, as well as shows with the E. Gwynn Dance Company.
After graduating in 1991, LaShawn relocated to Charlotte and immediately found herself as the new dance team coach at West Charlotte High School. Over the next 7 years, she spent time mentoring young girls in the field of dance while hitting the football field for half-time shows, attending numerous dance camps, and winning several championships. For the past 15 years, LaShawn has served as a cheerleading coach for her current and prior middle schools. Her passion for stepping has led her to creating a step team, comprised of middle school students. In 2011, LaShawn’s step team was awarded first place in the Power 98 Step Off Championships.
All of her accomplishments, in the classroom and on the dance floor, have led her to become the director of Fuzion Force Entertainment Academy.
Natasha comes to Fuzion Force with tons of dance experience. Natasha started dancing at the age of 3 and continued into her teenage years. Graduating from NC A&T, she later went on to get her dance education degree from UNC Charlotte. She spent 18 years teaching dance at BB Dance Productions and was the UNCC Golddusters Dance Team Coach for over 10 years. Natasha is the younger sister of our Performance Director, LaShawn Summers, and is also a teacher of many years with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.
